Good Question…Hydrogen Peroxide is hydrogen based & comes in many different strengths from 1% to 40 volume. Hydrogen Peroxide of course, is featured in many health products for acne treatments. cuts, wounds ect.. Yes, at higher volumes such as 10- 30 volume Hydrogen Peroxide is is used as a hair lightener, or to process & open the shaft of the hair in readying for color pigment depositing (hair dyeing).
hydrogen peroxide is limited in it’s lightening action where as bleach can be non stop.

Hydrogen Peroxide ( 10 volume ) applied to the affected area with a clean Qtip often will help tremendously.
