What are Cold Sores and How to Treat Them.

The herpes simplex virus is one of the most common types of disease found in North America, Europe and Australia. This virus is very contagious and appears as a blister on the sensitive parts of human body. Type 1 virus occurs on the body parts above the waistline and type 2 virus occurs on the body parts below the waistline. Blisters are known to occur on the face, nostrils, lips, neck, ear, etc. This visible occurrence of blisters presents an emotional problem to many individuals. These blisters may reoccur at any time before it becomes dormant. Once a person is infected by this cold sore virus then there is no permanent cure available on the market. One can only make the virus dormant and hope for the best.

A cold sore takes 9-12 days before entering into the remission phase where the virus becomes dormant. These blisters are known to create emotional problems because of its constant reappearance and the visibility of the sore. There are cures which make the visible blisters dormant. If you are affected right now it is important that you seek medical advice and get treated for the cold sore. It is very important to learn the basic nature and structure of the virus to combat it effectively from inside and outside of the human body.

Humans suffer from cold sores because of unhealthy life styles, oxygen deficient bodies, acidity, stress and strain, and excessive exposure to sun, consumption of junk food, chocolates, poor immune system¸ etc. The immune system should be strengthened from the inside to combat this virus effectively. The immune system can be improved if you practice healthy habits such as avoiding junk food, reducing smoking and drinking (alcohol), etc. White blood cells in your body are the primary defence against all viruses and diseases small and large (even cancer). Exercising your body helps it stays in shape and also improves your metabolism and improves the oxygen level in your body.

The technical name for cold sore/fever blister is Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1). This virus is transmitted through humans in the form of saliva, oral contact, dead skin, utensils, etc. It is very important that you are conscientious to not transfer this virus to anyone else.

Many people have their favourite remedy for treating cold sores. However, I know of only one that has worked consistently. It has been devised by Dr Derek Shepton and offers a scientifically based yet natural solution. It is the only treatment I recommend to my own patients.

Herpes Simplex 1 (Cold Sore) Virus and Oxygen

Many people in North America, Europe, Australia, etc have contracted the Herpes Simplex  virus through physical contact (directly or indirectly). Kissing, utensils, clothes, saliva, oral contact, etc are all responsible for transmitting the disease from one person to other. It is always advisable to contact your doctor for more information when you become infected with a cold sore. Many people often use over the counter medication for cold sores.

Ointments which contain Zinc and DMSO are widely used to prevent cold sores from occurring. People in Asian countries have much greater resistance to this disease than people in developed countries. HSV or herpes simplex virus commonly affects the sensitive parts of the face such as nostrils, lips, eye lids, etc.

There are two types of virus HSV – type 1 and HSV – type 2. HSV – 1 type 1 attacks at very common places such as the face and HSV – 2 attacks at places below the waist line. There is significant risk attached with both of these viruses if not detected and treated early.

Many people tend to spend money on medications and costly ointments to get rid of these viral blisters but they tend to ignore the basic facts. The patient suffering from herpes simplex virus may be creating ideal conditions inside their  body. Lower amount of oxygen inside the human body creates acidity. Herpes simplex virus thrives in an acidic climate and is anaerobic in nature.

This virus cannot survive in the presence of oxygen and it needs to have an acidic environment to thrive and multiply.  Stress is another major culprit which deprives the human body of oxygen and increases acidic nature. Our planet was covered with 40% oxygen previously and now oxygen levels have dropped to 20% which is causing many diseases and infections. Pollution levels in the air have displaced the oxygen thus making a human rely on external forms of supplements to revitalise his oxygen deficient body.

Adding stabilised oxygen or nascent oxygen into the human body improves the oxygen levels and makes your body rich with oxygen. Bacteria and viruses cannot survive in oxygen rich bodies thus making them go into remission. Oxygen is free radical scavenger and it is very important in curing many diseases such as cancer.
